Our 10-week fully-remote pre-accelerator program brings together an incredible group of founders from around the world who are in the beginning stages of building their first startup. We combine the power of community, world-class speakers, and customized support to help you build the next profitable tech company.
What To Expect
Lesson Labs
Lesson Labs are a hybrid between a lecture and a workshop covering topics related to growing a sustainable startup with subject matter experts. These sessions are built to ensure startups walk away with tangible takeaways that can be implemented immediately. These session happen Tuesday evenings @ 6:30pm EST and will be recorded for your review afterwards.
Weekly Check-Ins
Each week, you'll meet with the Square One team, allowing you to share updates, work through roadblocks, and get feedback, helping you move closer to your goals.
Wisdom Wednesdays
Wisdom Wednesdays are Q&A sessions with seasoned and influential entrepreneurs sharing their experience in running a successful startup and how to avoid costly mistakes. These sessions are bi-weekly and happen on Wednesdays @ 6:00pm EST.
Office Hours
Office Hours take place on Fridays where founders get to book time with subject matter experts in digital marketing, product development, legal, finance, and more to get guidance in 30-min. 1-on-1 sessions with our Advisors.
Grow Your Network
As a participant in our pre-accelerator program you will have access to Square One: Connect, a resource that provides contact information to all of our advisors, instructors, and alumni in the Square One network. You'll have the opportunity to get warm introductions to meet some of the top investors, operators, and founders in the startup world.
Our Curriculum
Our proven curriculum is designed for pre-product, pre-revenue, and pre-seed startup founders. Our goal is help you validate your concept in the quickest most cost-effective way possible by helping you build a email waitlist, gain paying customer, and attract your first investors.

Founder-Friendly Fees
Our goal is to ensure founders hold on to as much ownership of their company as possible. This is why we do not take equity in startups. We charge a founder-friendly tuition fee of $1,000 if accepted into our program that can be paid up front or in installments. As optional add-ons, you can get Square One to create some items for you..

Square One is a 10-Week virtual pre-accelerator program for founders starting their first tech startups. We provide access to community, curriculum, and coaches that helps founders validate their ideas, avoid costly mistakes, and get their first paying customers so they can scale in the most equity-efficient way possible.
Square One is a 100% virtual program where classes, sessions, and office hours all happen online via Zoom, Slack, and other online tools. This allows anyone from around the world to participate.
Square One focuses on Founders who are launching their first technology startup (I.e. proprietary software or tech-enabled). You are a good fit if you have a solid concept (Pre-Product), have a product but have generated little to no revenue (Pre-Revenue), or have a product and a little bit of revenue but have raised less than $250K in outside capital (Pre-Seed).

To participate in Square One’s pre-accelerator program there is a tuition fee of $1,000 that can be paid upfront or in 5 installments of $225.
If you would like the Square One team to create or build any assets for you over the course of the program, then, in addition to your tuition fee, you will be charged based on the items you select to “Add-On.” Please see optional Add-on prices below:

We want to empower founders to hold onto as much ownership of their company as possible in the early-stages. This is why we do not take any equity for participation in our program but instead we charge a founder-friendly tuition fee upon being accepted.
Also, from our research we noticed that most first-time founders spend between $10K – $20K on an MVP before validating their idea. So we’re looking founders who are willing to make a small financial commitment to learn the fundamentals that will help them avoid costly mistakes such as overpaying for development costs.
Your tuition fees are reinvested back into the Square One community to cover operational expenses, reach more founders across the world and bring in more amazing coaches to help you along your journey.

Yes! All sessions will be recorded and available for your review in our Member Dashboard immediately after the session finishes. However, to gain the most value from this program, we encourage founders who are unable to attend every session to take the initiative to watch Lesson Labs, complete assignments, and schedule time with Advisors on their own time.

What makes Square One Startup School so unique is our intentionality on paying customers instead of going straight to raise capital. We believe that if first-time founders focus their time and energy on converting interest into leads and leads into paying customers then they will experience the traction needed to negotiate better terms with investors when it’s time to scale.
